Topic: Possessive Adjectives
Teachers' name: Gabriela Callejas
Paolo Mazariego
Skill: Grammar.
This time we could not have the children because they had an activity from their school, so our classmates teach the lesson to us. Teacher Paolo started the class with the chant "family fingers". He pasted a poster in the board and ask students to sing along. The activity was fantastic, everybody was enjoying it and I would have really liked to see how it had worked with children.
Then teacher Paolo presented flashcards with 4 possessives adjectives which were: "my, your, his, and her". He explained the grammar structure and asked students to repeat them after him. In the next stage, they provide students a worksheet with exercises to fill in the blanks. I consider that it would have been great to have an example done in the worksheet so that students could better understand what they had to do.
After that, teachers provide students pieces of paper with different colors, then they had to look for the person who had the same color to make groups. Once in groups, students were given a flashcard and a possessive adjective so they could ask and answer to each other using the question: Who is that?
In the last activiy, teacher Gabriela used the flashcards of possessive adjectives to check the pronunciation again and recall what was taught during the lesson.
