This time was teacher Adriana and Xiomara's turn to teach the lesson, the class was very dynamic and participative. They designed a chart which contained the name of the students, teachers explained that they were going to provide a happy face if students participated and were attentive in the class, this activity encourage students a lot, they were having fun and paying attention to the class.

Teacher Xiomara started the class and formed pairs, she provided students a puzzle game. They had to form an animal related to the previous topic. Then she used the question "What animal is that?" and students were capable to answer the correct animal they had.

In the next stage, teacher Adriana was in charged to present the new vocabulary using flashcards and the labels. Teacher Adriana did a pretty job when teaching the new vocabulary, students were repeating after her.

After that they provided students a reading passage, and children had to read it completely. Then teacher Xiomara, asked three students to pass to the board and help her reading out loud the passage, I  did not think that students were capable to read it, but at the end they did a pretty good job. In the same passage, they also had students to complete the exercises related to the topic.

In the following activity, teacher Adriana provided students a worksheet where they had to write the letters that were missing in each word related to the vocabulary taught. Then she pasted a poster on the board containing the same words and they had to pass infront and complete them, they also had to match the words with the pictures that were in the board respectively.

In the last activity they play the game spin the bottle, children sat on the floor and the person that the bottle pointed at had to take a picture from a box and had to say the correct name, always practicing the vocabulary target.

Wild Animals.

Date of lesson plan: Tuesday, September 13th 2016.
Topic: Wild Animals
Teachers' name: Andrea Leiva
                        Juan José Menjivar
Skill: Vocabulary

In today's class my partners taught vocabulary about "Wild Animals". Teacher Juan José started and presented some of the rules of the class. Students were very hyperactive, they also gave students a quiz about the first unit.

After that he continued with the class and asked students to stand up and made a line, on the floor it was pasted circle black and yellow papers, so if the teacher said yellow they had to move the yellow circles and if they said black to the other side. It really was a great activity, students were having a lot of fun! Great activity to break the ice. I'd certainly like to use this activity in the warm up stage when teaching children.

Then teacher Juan José taught the vocabulary target using disposable plates and labels to show the names of the animals. It was not difficult to teach the vocabulary because most the students knew about it and were familiar with it. Very creative the fact that they used disposable plates to make the animals. They asked them to repeat and pronounce as many times as necessary.

In the next stage teacher Andrea gave each student a worksheet in which they had to match the picture of the animal with its correct name, students were able to complete the task easily.

After that they told students to imagine they were in a jungle and make two lines so they could work with the person infront of them. They gave the mask of the animals and students had to say the animal they were, using the structure "I'm a lion" for example.

In the last stage they passed a ball and when the teacher said stop the child who had it, will have to say the name of the animal the teacher showed using the diposable plates.

My family reading.

Date of the lesson plan: Thursday, September, 8th 2016.
Topic: My family
Teachers' name: Nelson Saravia
                        Cristian Alemán
Skill: Reading

This was our first experience teaching children with my colleague Nelson, I had to break the ice and sing the song "If you're happy" in the warm up stage. I asked students to stand up and make a circle, we had pasted a poster with the lyrics on the board and I read the words one by one so that students could get familiar with the lyrics, then they followed me and did the mimics for example clap your hands and stomp your feet.

Then my partner Nelson continue with the vocabulary target that was going to be presented in the reading showing them flashcards and labels. We asked students to repeat the words as many times as necessary and also did the mimic of the words. It was great to see that students understood the vocabulary because we asked them to match the labels with the flashcards and all of them wanted to participate and go to the board. In the next stage, we gave them the reading and asked to take a look at it for 1 minute, then showed them three different headings so they could chose the one that better described the reading.

After that we have them to read the complete text about family, some of them did not understand the instructions and we had to go one by one and explain the activity. It's important to use clear and short instructions when teaching children, most of the time they won't get the idea if you use long structured sentences.

In the post stage, we gave students a different text and ask them to complete it using their personal information about their family.

To finish the class we pass a ball and count to five and the child who gets the ball had to do the mimic of the vocabulary taught in the lesson and point it on the board.

Family members listening.

Date of lesson plan: Tuesday, September, 6th 2016.
Topic: Family members
Teachers' name: Carlos Jovel
                        Guillermo Guerra
Skill: Listening.

Teacher Carlos started the class and greet the students, they gave each students their name tags and pass the attendance. In the warm up stage, Carlos did a competition and students had to shoot to the family member he mentioned using a bow and arrow, it was a great activity, children were having fun. The children who won, received a prize.

After that teacher Guillermo started pasting some questions in the board and taught students the question: Who is he? Then they played a memory game and students had to look for the correct imagen either for the mother, father, brothers or sisters.

In the next stage they had to listen to the audio but the recorder did not work and so Carlos improvised and read the script of the listening to students. They gave students a worksheet to fill in the blanks in the first activity and the other they had to cirlce the correct family. Even though the recorder did not work in the listening part to play the audio, they did a great job and were able to resolve it immediately, as teachers we have to be prepared for any inconvenience we may have and always think of a plan B.

Then students had to draw their families and teachers divide the class in two groups, the first half had to present their drawings and the other half had to use the questions: Who is he? Who is she?

At the end of the class students play the game ground and sea, the students who made a mistake had to mimic a member of the family.

Possessive Adjectives.

Date of lesson plan: Thursday, September 1st 2016.
Topic: Possessive Adjectives
Teachers' name: Gabriela Callejas
                        Paolo Mazariego
Skill: Grammar.

This time we could not have the children because they had an activity from their school, so our classmates teach the lesson to us. Teacher Paolo started the class with the chant "family fingers". He pasted a poster in the board and ask students to sing along. The activity was fantastic, everybody was enjoying it and I would have really liked to see how it had worked with children.

Then teacher Paolo presented flashcards with 4 possessives adjectives which were: "my, your, his, and her". He explained the grammar structure and asked students to repeat them after him. In the next stage, they provide students a worksheet with exercises to fill in the blanks. I consider that it would have been great to have an example done in the worksheet so that students could better understand what they had to do.

After that, teachers provide students pieces of paper with different colors, then they had to look for the person who had the same color to make groups. Once in groups, students were given a flashcard and a possessive adjective so they could ask and answer to each other using the question: Who is that?

In the last activiy, teacher Gabriela used the flashcards of possessive adjectives to check the pronunciation again and recall what was taught during the lesson.

Family members.

Date of lesson plan: Tuesday, August, 30th 2016.
Topic: Family members
Teachers' name: Nicole Hernandez
                        Yansi Hernandez
Skill: Vocabulary

This was the first time working with children, the skill taught was vocabulary and my classmates Nicole and Yansi had to break the ice to teach children. Teachers asked students to stand up and say their name passing around a sponge bob square pants teddy. The activity was actually great students enjoy it and they were having fun. Once the activity was done, they asked students to write their names in a piece of paper and paste it in their chest.

In next stage, teacher Nicole presented the target vocabulary about family members, she used flashcards and asked students to repeat after her. She used mimics to  present the vocabulary as well, so that it could be easier for students to remember the words. After that, teacher Yansi and Nicole provide students the flashcards and labels related to the vocabulary so they could look for the person who had the corresponding word and the picture.

The following activity consisted in singing a song using the family members, teacher Nicole started the song so that students could repeat it. I consider it would have been better to bring a poster with the lyrics so that students could follow them, since at the end the activity did not result in the way they expected to.

In the last stage, teachers provided students six different images and a poster of a tree, so that students could order and do the family tree. It was a really great activity, the size of the poster was big enough and the images as well so that students could work better.
