Topic: Welcome to Bermuda.
Teacher's name: Andrea Leiva
                        Nelson Saravia
                        Yansi Hernández
                        Cristian Alemán

This was the second time to present our lesson, the skill we were assigned was reading. I started the class with the warm up stage and played the game "broken telephone". I assigned a number to each student 1 and 2. Then I asked them two formed two lines infront of the board, group number one in one side and group number two in the other. I gave a sentence to the last person in the line, and they had to pass the sentence to the other person and so on, until it got to the first person in the line. The first person had to go to the board and write the message they had received. The group that had more sentences correct was the winner.

Then my colleague Nelson continue with the next stage, he taught the new vocabulary that was going to be presented in the reading. He pasted some pictures on the board first, and then provide some students randomly a word so they could pass to the board and match with the corresponding picture. He also provide real life examples so that students could understand it better.

After that, teacher Andrea provided the text to students and write some questions in the board, she asked them to scan the text and look for the most important information. Students had to choose for the best title for the topic and some other questions presented in the board.

The next activity was presented by teacher Yansi, she used the labels and pictures presented in the pre stage and asked students to look for the person who had the corresponding picture or the word. She asked students to perform a role play, in which student A was going to invite student B to an interesting place in El Salvador and explained the things he could do there, similar to the one they had studied in the reading. Some pictures and words had a sticker on the back of the page that said "yeah" the person who had it had to pass infront of the class and present their role play.

I was in charged of the last stage, I had a bag with some pieces of paper and each student had to grab one, some pieces of paper had a word related to the vocabulary taught and others were in blank, the person who had the ones with the word had to provide the definition of it.

I really enjoyed this lesson and the teacher congratulated us because the class we had taught was almost closed to the ones he expected us to teach in a reading class.

Teacher Adriana started the class with the warm up stage, she formed pairs and asked several questions, like how many boys are there in the classroom? or how many girls are wearing sandal? students had to look for the correct answer and go to the board to write it, the pair who did it first could take a sit. Then, teacher Xiomara continue with the target vocabulary, she did the right and left activity, she presented the words in a piece of paper and ask students if they knew the word to move to the right and the ones who did not know the word had to move to the left. Workshop part II.

Date: Thursday, August 18th 2016.

This was the second day of the workshop. Giovany asked us to take out the ballon and inflate it, Then we had to go around and only using one finger we had to keep the ballon in the air, then we use two fingers, then using three fingers and so on until we could use our two hands to go around with the ballon. He asked us to protect the ballon and take care of it as if it was our life, he started chasing us and try to blow up our ballons using a pin. He blow up many of my classmate's ballon, but I did not leave him to blow up mine, so at the end I could keep mine safe.

Then we continue with the other part of the workshop, Giovany had asked us in the previous session to bring a tongue twister and a ahort fairy tale, the activity was great because all of us had to pass infront and present them, he wanted to see if we could put into practice what we've learned in session number 1, most of us showed a great improvement from the first session, we were able to speak normally, make use of our hands to express emotions and also we showed no nerves at all.

In the next activity, we made pairs, Giovany asked us to chose a chair per pair, one had to be sitting down and the  other made a massage to the person in the chair. It was a great activity, because we are always stress and frustrated from the daily routines. You could see everyone's faces we were more relaxed and feeling great.

In the last part we made a circle again, and give our opinion about the workshop, the new things we've learned and we thank Giovany for helping us and taking the time to work with us and teach us many things that will be useful for us when becoming the future teachers.

Present Passive

Date of lesson plan: August, 16th 2016.
Topic: Present Passive.
Teacher's name: Andrea Leiva
                        Cristian Alemán
                        Nelson Saravia
                        Yansi Hernández

This was the day in which we had to present our lesson, the skill was grammar and we had to teach the topic "Present Passive". My colleague Yansi started the warm up activity, she form two groups, she asked them two stand up and make two different lines infront of the board. She write on the board a word related to education in a vertical way, each of the students had to take turns and write a word per each of the letters, we used the words, learning, education and teaching. At the end the group who finished first earn a point, and the one who had more points received a prize.

Then I continued with the class and teach the grammar topic, I taught them the difference between the passive voice and the active voice. I wrote some examples on the board for active voice, and showed them the structure for subject+ verb+ object. I asked some students to pass to the board and underline the subject, verb and object to check comprehension of the topic so far. After that I taught the passive voice and gave some examples for a better understanding.

Once I have finished teaching the grammar topic, my partner Nelson continue with the class, he gave students a worksheet for practice with exercises using the passive voice. He then asked them to compare answers with the person next to them. After that, he chose three students randomly two read the three paragraphs and check the answers they've wrote.

In the last part of the lesson Andrea continue and formed four groups of three students and provide some pictures to each group. They had to face down the pictures and take turns and select one picture per student, with the picture they selected they had to create a sentence using the passive voice. Later on the activity she passed a ball and when she said stop the person who has it, had to choose a picture and share a sentence using the passive voice.

Workshop part I.

Body Expressions.
Person in charge: Giovany Alvarado

We had our first workshop, which was really helpful in order for us to be more secure and to learn how to control our nerves when being infront of children. We did different activities and dynamics and helped us a lot in order to know our weaknesses and strength, we had  to pass infront of everybody and present ourselves in a different way, we had to answer some questions and think of any animal, object or any other thing that we consider ourselves similar to that, for example the sun because we like to shine others and iluminate other's path. In my case I said that I was similar to a "cat", because sometimes I'm not that social or I'm very picky with the people I sourround. This dynamic really helps us because we had to pass infront of others and he wanted to see our expressions and body movements.

The feedback provided by him was very constructive, because we have to be aware of the mistakes that we made when being infront of many people and control our nerves. The other activity we did was excellent as well because we had to leave that our partners guide us through the space with our eyes closed, the other person who was guiding us had to make sure that we did not trip on with the rest of the class. I really think that the activity was great because we will be in charged of many children and we have to trust them and we also have to trust ourselves because we will be guiding others.

The last activity we did consisted in talking with the person infront of us, we had to make a conversation and then he asked us to go backwards and separate from the other person, we had to keep the conversation going, concentrate and pay attention to what our partner was telling us, that was good because in a classroom there will be many students making lots of noise and we have to learn to recognize their voices and know when someone said something.

At the end we made a circle and discussed what we learned during the workshop, what we liked and what we did not like, overall I consider that this kind of activities should be implemented for people that will start working with children, teenagers or that will teach in the future.

Chocolate-Reading

Date of lesson plan: August, 16th 2016
Topic: Chocolate
Teacher's name:   Juan Jose Menjivar
                          Roxana Díaz
                          Nicole Hernandez
                          Mariana Fagoaga

In this lesson plan, the skill taught was reading about "Chocolate". Teacher Roxana started the class and make two different groups, she gave each group a set of words related to food, one representative of each group had to pass to the board and draw the image of the word, the rest of the students had to guess what the word was, and so on, students had to take turns to pass to the board and the draw the image. I think it was a fun activity because everybody enjoyed it, and sometimes it was difficult to guess the word because not all of us are good at drawing.

Juan Jose continue with the class, he gave students some words and had pasted some pictures on the board, we had to match the word according to the picture. Then teacher Juan Jose checked if they were correct, not all of the pictures match with the words, however it was part of the activity because students always make mistakes and that is correct, as long as the teachers fix them and explain them one by one which was the next part that Juan Jose did, he explained the word and the picture and provide a definition for each of them.

Then teacher Mariana ask students to make groups and provide a text about "Chocolate". She asked students to face down the text and then give one minute to skim it, after that she pasted on the board some possible headings for the text and students had to guess which was the correct. It was a great idea to do so, because that way you're helping students improve their reading skills, when reading we use two different strategies for speeding up the reading which are skimming and scanning.

After that, Nicole made groups and we played in a basketball game and the person who did not score a basket had to answer a question about the text and the process of making chocolate. This activity was great because it helps students remember details and specific information about the text.

Recommendations-Listening

Date of lesson plan: August, 16th 2016.
Topic: Recommendations
Teacher's name:  Paolo Mazariego
                         Maria José Aguirre
                         Xiomara Gonzalez
                         Adriana Turcios

In this lesson plan, the skill taught was listening, students had to hear an audio and fill in the blanks in a conversation.

Xiomara started the class and make two groups, she gave students some phrases and we had to put them in the correct place either to give or accept recommendations. After that, Paolo play the audio "Giving a recommendation or accepting a recommendation". He played the audio twice, it was a good idea so that students could understand better and pay more attention to the details in the conversation. At the same time we had to fill in the blanks in the conversation given according to the audio. We had to compare with the person next to us, that's great because sometimes not all the students get the key points or the details and are not able to complete the exercises. Then, Paolo asked two students to say the conversation out loud.

Adriana continue with the last part of the lesson and formed pairs, we had to create a conversation in which student A knew a restaurant and will give some recommendations to student B about the most delicious food in the restaurant, students B had never gone to the restaurant.

Street food

Date of lesson plan: August, 9th 2016.
Topic: Street food.
Teacher's name: Gabriela Callejas
                           Gabriela Rodriguez
                           Carlos Jovel
                           Guillermo Guerra

In this lesson plan, we learned about vocabulary, the target words were: steam, melt, roast, microwave, boil.
At the begining of the class, Gabriela started with the warm up and she asked students to make a circle and pass the markers, depending on the color of the marker that she mentioned the person had to answer a question about their last vacation. Then, she presented four different pictures about food made in El Salvador, for example, enchiladas, empanadas, tacos and pastelitos and students had to describe how they were prepared.

After that, Carlos continue teaching the lesson, he showed us the vocabulary target, he was very carimastic and enthutiastic, he was able to kept everyone's attention. What I really liked was the way he presented the vocabulary because he explained the meaning of the word and also provide examples so that we could remember the target words.

Gabriela continue with the rest of the class, she reinforced the vocabulary that was taught. Then she asked students to make groups to create a conversation, there were some students who did not remember the number assigned, and I think that it could have been good that the teacher should have organized the groups again or number the students.

At the end of the lesson, we created a conversation and had to explain how the dish assigned was prepared, the ingredients and the process to do it, we also had to use the vocabulary target and come up with a name for the dish.
